Synopsis PROPHETS AND BROTHERS Prophets and Brothers is an adaptation of four short stories by Brian Evenson, one of which received an O.Henry Award. The film explores the fundamental religious beliefs of two patriarchs and their families and how human nature struggles with religious principles. Prophets and Brothers takes place over seven chapters that intertwine several separate narratives, starting with the story of Thrane, a disciple of the self-appointed prophet Daddy Norton. Thrane’s revelations begin shortly after he discovers his child dead of fever and makes the decision to bury her secretly, without informing the child’s mother. |
